Scholars Programme

The inscription reads : 'Return of Casualties in the Delhi Field Force from the 30th May to the 20th September 1857' and provides a full list of the 'martyrs'. Another 'nationalist' inscription was installed after Indian Independence in 1947 which seeks to set the record 'straight' by valorizing the Sepoys as the 'Heroes' of the 'First Indian War of Independence'.
