The Last Oral Narratives?

Ahmed Radi

Stories woven and interwoven
In a colourful tapestry,
Voices all over the place
Trying to capture a ritual
That is becoming precarious, fragile
In a world of audio-visual simulation.
Circles of folks are seduced
By the magic of narrative;
Legend and parody
Coexist in a postmodern decor
Of heterogeneous fragments.
Words uttered to be soon forgotten
Eloquent gestures of desperate men
In the face of countless images
Sent from distant skies.
Is it an apocalyptic deluge?
Is it a moment of different bliss?
