Ho Chee Lick: Brief Biography

Dr. Ho Chee Lick, a Singaporean painter and scholar of English language and literature, was born in 1950. Currently an Assistant Professor of English Language and Literature at the National University of Singapore, he holds and M. A., an M. Phil., and a PhD from the University of Kansas.

The recipient of a Fulbright Research Fellowship (1996), his main research interests include cross-cultural communication and understanding, language ideology, and translation. His conference papers have appeared in Proceedings of the Fifteenth and Sixteenth Annual Meetings of the Linguistics Society, Proceedings of the Third International Symposium on Chinese Languages and Linguistics, and Words in a Cultural Context.
