Zimbabwe is a multi-racial country and most people are more concerned with economic and social issues than racial differences. I am such a person and my personal views are basically the following....
I deplore violence of any kind.
I deplore the violent disruption of lawfully constituted gatherings I do not support current legislation that bans labour stoppages, a contravention of basic human rights and the Zimbabwean constitution I do not support the illegal invasions of commercial farms (and now residences and businesses).
I do not support the violent government instituted campaign against the opposition (this has claimed 15 lives now and threatens not only the loss of all livelihood to 300 000 farm workers - but to a nation that is dependent on its agricultural produce).
I do not support the new powers that allow the police to ban and limit campaigning by the opposition.
I do support completely an organised and transparent land reform program whereby the land the government still holds is returned to the rural poor for whom it was acquired and under-utilised land suitable for farming purposes is purchased for a market related remuneration and structured resettlement programs are implemented, with the necessary training and support to ensure all land recipients have the skills to make the best use of the land.
